That Gut Feeling

Have you ever had that gut feeling that something wasn’t right, or you felt someone was dodgy or lying? I have had it so many times and I’ve ignoredit only to be proved that I should have taken more notice of my gut than my head.

During the past 3 years I have become more aware of my intuition and allowed myself to be guided by it. I have made sense of my intuition by analysing my own thoughts, from this I have discovered within myself how and why my intuitions are aware of more than I recognised.

Our brains are like sponges, they absorb information all the time, some are obvious such as; when I cross the road I must look to see there areno cars coming. Some other information isn’t processed in the same way possibly because the information is small and in the moment, usually picking up on odd behaviours, but what ever it is the brain has managed to pick it up and will store it and compare it to previous experiences, this will be a pattern of knowledge.

I used to ignore these feelings for years, assuming that I was making a harsh judgement or over thinking, I now know that the brain has information that it can’t put into words and therefore sends the information through my gut, that for me is all I need to identify.

The difference between rational and intuition

In my opinion my intuition does not need to say or do anything more. What if I was being irrational? I would act on safe than sorry. If you were playinghide and seek you would be cautious of getting caught, if you were a gambler you may say your on a winning streak, be rational; gambling doesn’t work like that. Intuition isn’t a magic power or telepathy, this is where you have to rely on being rational.

I suppose the emphasis is on trust, you must chose to either trust external sources/words/facts all of which are more clear and evident (unknowingly if true, e.g politicians). Or you must trust YOURSELF, your feelings that have no actual gathering of information for evidence, it can only provide you the feeling in your gut.Screen Shot 2018-02-18 at 00.25.47.png
